New Song: “We’re so, so Lucky – You Betcha!”

Just got back from Australia and we’re drumming in the store, Seasons, in Santa Monica. Cathy and Garvin have been drumming while I was gone for a week and they really sounded good, so we settled into a laid back second line funk groove sort of like the Meters or Neville Bros and I just had to come up with some good lyrics to sing, so I came up with, “We’re so lucky” and we just cooked for a while on it. A few verses came out OK and I bet it’ll evolve if we can find that groove again. Cathy Javier’s soloing on djembe is outstanding. I’m just holding the groove. She’s the one doing the high end riffs!
